Monymusk relaunches brand, cops two awards at Miami Rum Festival - Monymusk Plantation Rums

Nation Rums of Jamaica Limited is celebrating two big wins for the Monymusk brand at the Miami Rum Festival, held April 22-23 at the Miami Airport Convention Center.

The Miami Rum Festival’s annual Rum XP Awards saw the participation of hundreds of the most renowned rums from across the world competing across nine categories.

After three days of blind tasting sessions, the Monymusk Classic Gold received the “Best In Class Award” for the Gold Rum Catergory and the Monymusk Special Reserve – Gold Award in the Aged Rum Category.

“We are very excited about the relaunch of The Monymusk Plantation Branded rum products in Jamaica. We are providing another option for consumers both locally and internationally,” said Winston Harrison, Chief Executive Officer of National Rums of Jamaica Limited, in a press release.

“Monymusk Plantation Rum has taken Brand Jamaica further; demonstrated by two of our rums, the five year old Classic Gold and The Special Reserve that won gold awards at the Miami Rum Festival from a field of over 110 Rums,” he continued, explaining that “Taste, quality and smell are important differentiators which our team has mastered in our blends, so putting our products at world class standards.”

At the moment, the company is looking at making improvements to every single detail and process, from the reaping of the sugar cane, distillery, packaging and product distribution to ensuring to keep the standards of the Monymusk rums on a high note, he said.

In light of the logistics and distribution of the Monymusk brand locally and internationally, the team has partnered with Quikanou, a locally operated e-commerce website headed by Jomo Cato which brings an Amazon feel to local purchasing; as well as Westmoreland-based A & L Distributors, which will be covering distribution in the western section of the island. Meanwhile, Derrimon Trading Company, the company said, will be covering the eastern and central region.

Against the background of these developments, Monymusk Plantation Brand commercial manager Damian Graveley said the company is “embarking on a very interesting journey”.

“We have forged partnerships with local distributors who will provide all island coverage as well as our online presence through Quikanou.com, we endeavor to have our products at every corner bar and retail outlet,” said.

The commercial manager noted that the Monymusk Plantation Brand boasts five great options in packaging ranging from 1 litre to 200 ml bottles.

“We will also be extending the product line with additional exciting products,” he said.
